Global Secure Accreditation
Global Secure Accreditation (GSA) has created the first truly independent standard for security in the global hotel industry.
People treat hotels like home, but guests are often at risk of being a victim of criminal activity. In an increasingly uncertain world, hotels remain one of the few easily accessible indoor areas. GSA is an independent and ‘Ofqual’ regulated security standard which provides assurance to hotel owners, hotel managers and travellers that a hotel has affective security standards. Research has overwhelmingly demonstrated security is now a major priority for leisure and business travellers and GSA helps hotels differentiate themselves and provide assurance to their guests and staff.
The accreditation assessment is undertaken by trained and accredited security professionals under the independent supervision of a UK Government approved standards awarding body - SFJ Awards.
The process is ‘collaborative’ and GSA works with hotels to help them achieve the accreditation standard. Well managed hotels that have carefully considered their risks and security issues and have planned accordingly are likely to meet the standards. Hotels which do not initially satisfy the standards are provided with guidance as to the steps they need to take to meet the standards and are then re-assessed.
At GSA, we believe it is critical that worldwide hotel security standards are as measurable as other high levels of service provided by the hotel industry.
