Industry Affairs

At Cavendish Advocacy, we land our clients’ stories with political audiences clearly and powerfully. We combine insight with influence and utilise our digital and creative teams to ensure your ideas change minds when it matters most.

Our cross-party team of consultants operate out of our Westminster and international hubs in Brussels and Washington DC, with backgrounds in Parliament, the civil service, local government, political parties, think tanks and journalism. That means we have genuine insight into the policy making process, the windows for influence and the messages that will resonate.

Cavendish Advocacy is part of BECG, a group of over 100 communications specialists that is placed 3rd in PRWeek’s Public Affairs rankings and holds the ICCO EMEA Independent Consultancy of the Year accolade.

Influencing Policy

A major challenge for any organisation seeking to influence Government policy is ensuring their voice is heard amongst the numerous stakeholders competing for Government time and resources.

The BTA - supported by public affairs agency Cavendish Communications - works to ensure that the business travel management sector has a clear voice in shaping policy, whether through direct meetings and relationship building with politicians and officials, or by responding to consultations and inquiries. Cavendish also supports the BTA through disseminating regular political updates and helping to secure political speakers for industry events.

The BTA will also soon establish a new All-Party Parliamentary Group on Business Travel. This Group will be comprised of a cross-party team of Parliamentarians supportive of the Business Travel industry and who will work to champion a policy environment that can enable the sector to thrive.

Informed, Evidence Led Influencing

To ensure that the BTA story is underpinned by robust data, we work with our members and partners to research and submit compelling evidence that achieves cut through with policy makers and key influencers.

This data provides valuable insight into UK travel trends and is an important tool in highlighting the importance of our sector to the UK economy. The BTA also conducts regular surveys of our members to identify where their priorities lie in regards to infrastructure investment and transport policy.

This data is then disseminated among key political stakeholders and serves as an important tool in the BTA influencing arsenal.
