BTA Appoints Three New Members To Executive Board
The professional body for Travel Management Companies in the UK, the GTMC, has confirmed three new appointments to its Board.
The addition of Maria Baty, John O'Sullivan and Steve Barrass takes the number of members of the executive team to 15, broadening the diversity of the membership on the GTMC board and ensuring all sectors of the TMC community and their requirements are represented.
Baty "previously, owner of Top Flight Travel Management and now managing director of Altour UK (part of Travel Leaders Group)" has worked in the corporate travel sector for more than 25 years and has significant experience in training, development and account management.
As managing director UK and Europe at Key Travel, O'Sullivan currently oversees one of the biggest TMC players in the not-for-profit sector, managing the travel needs of the world's major humanitarian, faith and academic organisations. His background includes pioneering work in the communications, internet and ecommerce sectors and he also chairs Ten2Two, a flexible resourcing company he founded in 2007.
Travel industry stalwart Steve Barrass is best-known from his work in a number of senior leisure travel roles, including managing director at Airtours and senior vice-president at Dnata Travel. He is now chief executive at The Appointment Group (TAG), which specialises in the music, entertainment, film and media industries and acts as a travel management company to wealthy private clients.
